Novel Measurement of Anisotropic Thermal Diffusivity
We describe a method for the measurement of thermal diffusivity of anisotropic materials. The technique uses a single pulse of light from a flashlamp on the front surface of a slap of material, part of which is shadowed by a rectangular mask. By fitting the measured rear surface temperature distributions as a function of time and space to a theoretical model, we obtain the thermal diffusivities...
متن کاملComparison of thermal diffusivity measurement techniques
Thanks to the collaboration between two laboratories, we present different techniques to measure thermal diffusivity. A brief description of any technique both in the experimental layout and in the processing algorithms is given. Results obtained on samples cut from the same block of stainless steel AISI 304, are reported. Uncertainty evaluation of any measurement is reported as well.
متن کاملMeasurement Thermal Conductivity and Thermal Diffusivity of Chromium Nanofluids
In this study, nanofluids of Chromium (Cr) in water, Ethylene Glycol and Ethanol have been prepared using single step method. The thermal conductivity and diffusivity of these nanofluids were measured via hot wire-photothermal deflection technique. Based on finite difference method (FDM) temperature distribution and photothermal deflection caused by the hot wire inside nanofluids was obtained. ...
متن کاملcontrol of the optical properties of nanoparticles by laser fields
Measurement of gas-phase sound speed and thermal diffusivity over a broad pressure range using laser-induced thermal acoustics.
We report on the detection and analysis of signals generated from gas-phase laser-induced gratings over a large range of static pressure (0.04-100 atm). We employed the experimental technique of laser-induced thermal acoustics and performed measurements on mixtures of NO(2) in air and CO(2) as a function of pressure. Accurate analysis of the acquired data was obtained from a full theory, includ...
